It’s Halloween this friday so I just had to do a spooky limerick challenge! As usual my sons (aged 7 and 5) provided the inspiration and the illustrations:
There once was a vampire called Dracula
Whose blood-sucking skills were spectacular
Till once day he took
A swipe at a cook
And was staked through the heart with a spatula.
Just fabulous Maddy! Very appropriate xxx
Thanks Reneé! Something spooky felt essential!
I just love this Maddy
Thanks for sharing it with #WonderfulWorldofWriting
Thanks Carol and thanks for hosting!
Absolutely love your limericks, this one especially, haha.
Thank you. Spatula is one of my favourite words so I was chuffed to include it in a limerick!
An impulsive impaler named Vlad
Stuck stakes up his mum and his dad
His sister, his granny
His brother, the nanny…
He misses them greatly – how mad!
This isn’t the first poem you’ve written about impaling grannies- I’ve got my eye on you…
Love it, especially the drawings that inspired/accompanied it
Thanks Iona -the boys do enjoy drawing and always get a thrill when they see their pictures on my blog!
Love your limericks, this one made me snort! Brilliant x #Prose4T
Thanks Sara – it is a particularly silly one. No, wait, they all are!
Now that has made me smile
Spatula, the drawing, just all of it x #prose4T
Thanks I like to make people smile! xx
Lol, I just love your limericks! Fab one for Halloween
Ha ha! Love your limericks. This is another cracker! #Prose4T
Hahahaha. You and your limericks. The spectacular dracula spatula. x
As utterly brilliant as ever Maddy. You really are a great limerickist (or whatever the word is!). Thank you for linking to Prose for Thought
