I’m totally sick
Of feeling like shit:
Dark-ringed
Spotty-skinned
Sore-headed
Leaden-legged
Bleary-eyed
Nerves fried
Soggy-brained
Muscle-pained
And all for a baby
Who I love like crazy
But WILL. NOT. SLEEP
Linking up my moment of desperation with #Prose4T over at Verily Victoria Vocalises.
Love, love this and the way you have set it out is fantastic.
Sleep is much underrated before children….
#Prose4T
Thanks Sarah, Glad you like the lay out – i thought I’d try something a bit different to usual!
I feel your pain honey I really do! Hopefully your bub will start sleeping soon. Huge hugs xxx
Thanks – I hope so too! And I hope you get some sleep!
Oh, yes… Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt but was so tired i left it on the bus on the way home…
Hope your (through gritted teeth) *dear little monster* lets you get some kip soon.
#Prose4T (if I remember later)
Thanks David. Somewhere there is a room full of ‘lost property’ of sleep deprived parents. It’s brim full of sanity, marbles and patience, I imagine!
This says it all. Soggy brain – I don’t think that ever goes away! Hope you get some sleep soon, I really know your pain. x
I was also toying with ‘slushy’ and ‘mushy’. All very apt! Thanks Jess.
Ohhhhh yeah.
Yup. hope you’ve got past this stage now though! xx
I feel your pain. I hope you get a good night soon x
Thank you. He’s 13 months old so the end to sleep deprivation must be in sight! Right?
Oh no. Lack of sleep is like torture isn’t it. I do hope you get some rest soon xx
Thanks Iona x
Love the layout of this and totally echo the sentiment! Also like your Mii.
Thank you! The layout was supposed to represent a scattered thought-process and be a sort of poetic vomit which seemed appropriate! I created the Mii because my previous one was looking far too youthful and vibrant!
This is fantastic. I love how you have it laid out too. So creative. #prose4thought
Thanks Jenny! I figured if i was going to have another whinge about sleep-deprivation I should at least be creative about it!
Love this, the words and layout. There is nothing worse than sleep deprivation
I feel for you xx #Prose4T
Yes, sleep deprivation is hellish! Glad you like the layout as I was trying something I hadn’t done before. Thanks Sara.
Love how you’ve laid this out…. and fab poem; I’ve been here too – it’s so painful, I thoroughly empathise. X
Thanks Sadie. Yes, it’s painful so I might as well try and use it as inspiration! Thanks for the empathy.
Love, Love LOVE this……… AWESOME poem and love the way it’s been presented #prose4t
Thanks Cathie! I think it’s good to try something new sometimes. The layout did seem to make it more interesting when I was wondering what to do with the poem.
I LOVE this!! Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant (Hope you get sleep soon) xx
Thank you Ojo! I hope so too! x
Can you be stuck between a smile and a grimace?? I certainly was when I read this one as it rang so true and made me realise if we don’t laugh at ourselves then insanity is probably the only sensible solution. Beautifully expressed as always – you’ve inspired me to put pen to paper more (or finger to keyboard) too
Thanks Sarah, I think being stuck between a smile and a grimace is how I feel a lot of the time! Glad to have inspired you – would love to read what you write. xxx
Brilliantly written, brilliantly presented BUT I am so sorry you are having such a hard time. I hope that child settles soon (funny what brings your writing back, isn’t it?!). Thank you for linking to Prose for Thought x
Thank you! I think it was sheer desperation that brought back the inspiration! xx
